Hardback, 6.5 x 4 inches. Full green morocco leather binding, extensive gilt decorations to boards and spine, with raised banding and gilt lettering. Gilt crests to boards ?Tuum Est.? In very good condition. Spine slightly darkened and rubbed on edges and corners. Some minor marks to endpapers with bookplate to front ?Thomas Lloyd, Beechmount.? Inscription to front prelim dated 1868. Darkening and foxing to edges of plates, all with tissue guards. Some occasional minor spots and handling marks to pages, small glue mark to p95 from small loose ?cracker? illustration, some foxing to edges of 390-391. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 695pp. Illustrated with an engraved frontis portrait and title page vignette. With 6 other full-page engraved plates. One of the most popular poets of his time, Cowper changed the direction of 18th century nature poetry by writing of everyday life and scenes of the English countryside. In many ways, he was one of the forerunners of Romantic poetry.

Books can be returned within 14 days upon receipt (please let us straight away).
If the book was wrongly described, we will refund your return postage. If you
just changed your mind, we would you expect you to refund our postage to you. We

library labels or inscriptions, slight foxing, or very minor other faults -
unless these seriously affect the value of the book.
