Moderate wear; boards well rubbed and edgeworn; spine head and tail pulled and leather chipped; gilt tarnished; leather mostly missing from the board corners; text block edges toned and top edge dusted; top hinge cracked; some inked scribbles to the front pastedown; foxing, with offset to the frontis.; previous owner?s contemporary inked inscription to the title page; light scattered foxing throughout. Good. This is an unauthorised collection, with the frontispiece portrait by Wedgewood (after Carruthers), issued in France without the permission of Wordsworth or his publishers. The text was taken from a British edition released in 1827: while there is no printed year of release in this version, its notoriety allows for its accurate dating.
