Over the past 25 years Dale Biron has coached an extraordinary number of successful leaders and teams, fulfilling his mission to support clients in both their work and personal lives. Using bold, powerful language, he is transforming how timeless narratives and poems are experienced and applied.
Bucking tradition, Dale uses poetry in story-rich, entertaining and engaging ways that ignite the mind, unleash the imagination, and touch the heart and soul. He has long observed how great stories and poems integrate and draw out the best of our intellectual and emotional selves. Such poems and stories have wholehearted conversations built right in, making them exceptional tools for those who want to improve their communication and accomplish more together.
Dale has presented and taught at large and small venues throughout the West, including TEDx Marin, national business conferences, The Herbst Theatre, and Dominican University. He is former Poetry Editor for A Network for Grateful Living and served on the Board of Directors of the Marin Poetry Center. Dale's own book of poems--Why We Do Our Daily Practice--was published in 2014.
Growing up in the Piedmont region of North Carolina under the watchful care of a New England-bred Father who read voraciously and a Southern-born Mother who loved poetry, literature and Latin, Dale's love for language was predestined. He now lives, works and gardens in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.
"I have been inspired by Dale's work and his poetry for many years. I only wish I had had this book when I was leading a fast growing company through "the treacherous conditions caused by organizational growth, change and transition." I and the company would have been the better for it."
-- David Edward,
former CEO of The Body Shop Inc.
"This is not a book to be read once and put in the bookcase. It is a daily resource for examining leadership and connecting to ourselves in that pursuit. Dale Biron is masterful at using poetry to facilitate this awakening and giving us a guide for ongoing reflection. It will provoke, stimulate, and inspire you every time you read it."
-- Susannah Baldwin Ph.D. --Leadership and
Communications Coach
"I love to read poetry; but I rarely seek them out as a business book. However, I very much enjoyed reading your introduction and I was very curious to read the poems once I read their titles. Now, I'd like to read them all because they were penned especially to help businessmen and women develop the leadership within us. I sensed that these poems will help us get in touch with own inner being which in turn will help us to get in touch with our students'. It is my hope that I they will become a better student of leadership and teacher. I want to use your book to help me mentor the younger generation of future leaders at La Tortilla Factory." Thank you for writing this book.
-- Carlos Tamayo, Chairman of the Board of
La Tortilla Factory
"I loved your intro and can't wait to get a copy of the final book! I think the poetic/story telling approach is a wonderful way of getting your message across."
-- Martin E. Plourd, President & CEO of
Community West Bank and
Community West Bancshares
"In the tradition of David Whyte, Dale Biron has found his voice in translating the polarized society in which we live into the subtle and often sublime music of poetry to public offerings and to the corporate arena. The quality of Dale's poetry often takes the ordinary experience of daily life into moments of inspiration."
-- Ron Tilden, Organization Consultant
and Musician
"Dale is a wonderful combination of poet, craftsman, and coach and this fine little work puts his insights on sharp display. I was struck and reminded from the first few pages that we are, and most certainly I am, easily made prisoner of the lurid appeal of logic and reason and an all too natural gravitation towards rapid decision-making. Dale reminds us the settling, opening, and slowing influence of a bit of verse, a spot of poetry, or even a selection from an epic poem. This book should find a comfortable home on the shelves of any seeker of insight, inspiration, or just good common sense guidance."
-- Kevin Hoffberg, Sr. Consultant, Retired Executive,
Citizen Farmer
"I truly believe that if I came back to planet Earth a decade from now, I'd find captains of industry throughout our nation quoting Dale Biron during their board meetings and coffee breaks."
