Almost 300 years have passed since people in society have spoken or heard a real voice. From the outside, life appears refined; some would even say perfect. Every aspect of life is funded and controlled by a powerful organization named TECLA. Using microchips, visors, and a complex digital network, this organization created a world where it's impossible to distinguish true reality. Everyone is under TECLA’s careful management.

A teenager named Maverick Colt finds himself stuck in the middle. With close ties to TECLA, he stumbles upon the true intentions of the institution and its founder, Simeon McCline. Maverick’s pursuit spirals into a whirlwind of deception, revelations, and pain. When the fate of the world rests in a young boy’s hands, will he make the right decisions and move quickly enough to save the ones he cares about?

Kara Davis began her book in 8th grade and spent nearly four years crafting this story. She is currently a high school senior. No AI was used in the wriitng of this book.
