About the Author

Born and raised in Freeport, Illinois, Roger Hayes was drafted in May, 1967, and served two years in the U.S. Army, one of which as an infantryman in Vietnam where he served as a rifleman, tunnel rat, point man, and eventually squad leader. He was wounded four times. He lives in Carlyle, Illinois, and is employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an outdoor recreation specialist. This is his first book.
