"Points of View" is a thought-provoking collection of essays by the influential American literary critic Stuart Pratt Sherman. This volume offers a series of insightful reflections on literature, culture, and the moral responsibilities of the artist and critic in the early 20th century. Sherman explores a wide range of topics, from the evaluation of contemporary American writers to broader discussions on humanism and social ethics.

Through these essays, the author challenges the prevailing trends of his time, advocating for a literary standard that balances aesthetic merit with social and moral integrity. The collection includes notable critiques and observations that capture the intellectual ferment of the 1920s, providing readers with a window into the evolving landscape of American letters. Sherman's prose is characterized by its clarity, vigor, and deep engagement with the tradition of humanistic inquiry.
