Police Technology

A thoroughly-researched, well-written examination of information technology in the public sector, Police Technology discusses law enforcement as an information-intensive task. Whether interviewing victims, interrogating subjects, or gathering evidence, this book discusses the cutting-edge technology needed to handle the incredible load of information that goes along with an average investigation and/or arrest. It tackles the broad field of information technology in a well-organized systematic method: it starts with the basic information on computers, builds to an exploration of complex systems, and explores IT against the backdrop of traditional criminal justice subjects such as community policing, efficiency, equity, and rational choice. For police executives, police supervisors, police employees, public managers, or anyone who may indirectly manage information technology sections or projects.
