New eps. This particular edition was published soon after Carlile returned to London from Manchester having witnessed the events now known as Peterloo. He was tried and imprisoned soon afterwards and spent some 10 years in gaol. Despite all, Carlile editions of Paine's work continued to be printed, published and sold by his supporters, many of whom also served prison sentences. The pages are remarkably clean and bright.
