Politico's Guide to the General Election (Politico's Guides)

Two lecturers in British politics (Henig at the U. of Sunderland, Baston at the U. of Kingston) have written a savvy and succinct guide to the 2001 British election. They provide a chronology of key events from 1997-2000; list UK general election results for 1945-1997, the by-elections of the 1997 Parliament, the retiring MP's; and give the results of opinion polls, party prospects, changes to electoral law, and their predictions. The bulk of the book details the profiles of all the regions and their constituencies. Distributed by ISBS. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
