Die Verschr�nkung von Politik und Recht ist ein charakteristisches Merkmal moderner Gesellschaften und darum zentraler Gegenstand sozialwissenschaftlicher Forschung. In der deutschen Politikwissenschaft wurde dieses Verh�ltnis bisher allerdings sehr viel weniger systematisch betrachtet und bearbeitet, als es in anderen Disziplinen und Wissenschaftskulturen �blich ist. Dieses PVS-Sonderheft soll einen Beitrag zur �berwindung dieser Situation leisten. Nach der Einleitung mit einem �berblick zum Stand der Diskussion erfolgt in Teil I die Er�rterung wichtiger theoretischer Fragen (Verh�ltnis von Recht und staatlicher Ordnung; Verst�ndnis von Legitimit�t und Legalit�t). Teil II diskutiert ausgew�hlte Aspekte der konstitutionellen Demokratie. Teil III und IV sind dann der Analyse der zunehmenden Verrechtlichung im europ�ischen Integrationsprozess und in den internationalen Beziehungen gewidmet.
