Written in a scholarly, yet simple fashion, its contents are clear and understandable to novice and expert alike. The author, Theodore P. Hines, was an internationally famous player and a National title-holder. He encountered the greatest masters of the day with uniform success and passes on to you the secrets of proper play and development. By mastering the openings, as shown by Mr. Hines, and studying his instructive problems and end-games, the reader will emerge a more polished and stronger player.

To the millions of "regular straight" Checker players, this book will serve as an introduction to a new and highly interesting variation, similar in many respects to the old English game. The rules clearly illustrate the difference between the two games, and any Checker player will soon "catch on," to benefit greatly from the experience of meeting this new friend.
