Popular Music Studies

David Hesmondhalgh is Professor of Media, Music and Culture in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds, UK. He is the author of Culture, Economy and Politics: The Case of New Labour (Palgrave, 2015, co-written with Kate Oakley, David Lee and Melissa Nisbett); Why Music Matters (Wiley-Blackwell, 2013); Creative Labour: Media Work in Three Cultural Industries (Routledge, 2011, co-written with Sarah Baker); and The Cultural Industries, now in its third edition (Sage, 2012), with a fourth edition due in 2018. He is also editor or co-editor of six other books on media, music and culture.

Keith Negus is Professor of Music at Goldsmiths, University of London and an editorial board member of Popular Music with Cambridge University Press. He is the author of Bob Dylan (Equinox), Music Genres and Corporate Cultures (Routledge), Popular Music in Theory (Wesleyan University Press),Producing Pop (Arnold), and co-author of Creativity, Communication and Cultural Value and Doing Cultural Studies, both with Sage.
