Popular Piano Solos - Level 2: Hal Leonard Student Piano Library

Popular Piano Solos - Level 2 from the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library is a curated collection of arrangements by various composers, designed for elementary-level piano students developing foundational skills. Aligned with Piano Lessons Book 2, this songbook serves as a supportive supplement for learners building confidence in reading, rhythm, and early coordination at the keyboard.

This collection is ideal for developing pianists who are working with basic note values, simple rhythms, and limited hands-together playing. It offers a structured yet engaging way to reinforce essential skills while introducing familiar, enjoyable repertoire suitable for both learning and light performance.

Inside are 10 recognizable songs arranged in large, easy-to-read staff notation, allowing students to focus on musicality without visual strain. Each piece includes a complementary teacher accompaniment, creating a fuller, more engaging performance experience during lessons or at home. The arrangements stay within a comfortable reading range from Bass Clef B below middle C to Treble Clef B above, reinforcing essential reading skills while introducing melodic and harmonic intervals through a fifth.

The collection offers a balanced mix of familiar melodies and achievable challenges, helping students strengthen timing in 3/4 and 4/4 meter while becoming comfortable with sharps, flats, and naturals. The approachable layouts and thoughtful pacing encourage consistent practice, making each piece feel rewarding rather than overwhelming. For teachers, it provides reliable supplemental material that integrates smoothly with existing lesson methods.
