The Porch of Common Prayer

Happiness has come to be defined by more than enough- more than enough stuff- more than enough health, status, money, housing. But there's never going to be enough of all that to go around for everybody, so maybe- if at all possible- you'd better find happiness where you are, with the people among whom you find yourself.

Author Peter Tuttle and his wife, Edie, have found happiness on the porch of a small town general store. Not everyone has a general store available- but Tuttle's meditation upon life in The Porch of Common Prayer might help you find your own general store- wherever, whatever that might be.

Peter Tuttle was born in New Hampshire and educated at Commonwealth School and Columbia University. His previous books include Pigeon Cove, Desire, Looking for a Sign in the West, and a translation of the Canterbury Tales into Modern English for the Barnes and Noble classics series.

Peter began writing as Rockport Reporter for the Gloucester (Massachusetts) Daily Times and he has published articles in North Shore, American Heritage and Yankee magazines.
