Review
Tony and Josh do a great job in answering the early questions when you find out about sex addiction. This is great to have couples read together and get the clinical and recovery answers. Easy to read, practical and insightful! -- Douglas Weiss, Ph.D, President of the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy
Compulsive problematic sexual behavior is riddled with denial and the authors cut through the normal defense mechanisms that occur to keep this problem a secret. They show great empathy for the spouse who naturally wonders "if she wasn't enough." This book cuts to the chase and helps the reader find hope, strength, and recovery throughout the chapters. It is as if you are in the office talking to a counselor and a sex addict and they are reading your minds as a couple who are seeking help for the first time. Tony Overbay & Joshua Shea show a real passion for helping to navigate you through the process of porn addiction recovery! -- Carol Juergensen Sheets LCSW, CSAT, CCPS, Author of Help.Her.Heal. An Empathy Workbook for Sex Addicts to Help Their Partners Heal, Host of Sex Help With Carol the Coach and Partner Betrayal Recovery podcasts

One of most courageous and timely books to help with a widespread and almost never talked about epidemic that is ruining marriages, careers and lives. It will give hope to millions of people who are addicted to pornography. -- Mark Goulston, MD, FAPA, Author of Just Listen Discover the Secret to Getting Through to Absolutely Anyone
A part of the frustration for those trapped in sexual addiction, along with their loved ones, is the struggle for insightful answers regarding the addiction and recovery process. No understanding of the disorder and the pathway to recovery leaves individuals and couples wandering in the dark and feeling helpless. And that is where this book comes in. Written by Tony Overbay, LMFT and Joshua Shea, a recovering sex addict, this resource clearly spells out the answers to numerous questions that will provide clear, accurate and more importantly, inspiring information. The need for a book like this is tremendous and will serve to assist many people by providing amazing insights and clarity during very trying times. If you struggle with a sexual addiction, or are the loved one of someone who does, you need to read this book. -- Eddie Capparucci, LPC, C-CSAS, CPCS
Throughout the book, there is consistent messaging that both recovery and repair of the relationship are possible as long as the addict is willing to put it the effort and commit to a recovery program. When suggestions are made for how the partner might address their own issues related to betrayal trauma and trust, this is done gently and respectfully. There is repeated reassurance that the partner did not cause the porn addiction. -- Ashley Peterson, RN, BSN, MPN, MentalHealthAtHome.org
