Einleitung: Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, ein Vorgehen zu bestimmen, das eine zielgenaue Abstimmung zwischen Investor und Portfoliomanagement hinsichtlich einer investorengerechten Portfoliostruktur erm�glicht und die Schw�chen des Risikoklassenkonzeptes beseitigt. Dabei wird auf ein in der Praxis bereits eingesetztes Konzept zum Risikocontrolling mit Namen "Value at Risk" eingegangen und eine Verbindung zur Portfoliotheorie nach H. Markowitz hergestellt. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit steht die Verkn�pfung dieser beiden Konzepte, die jeweils f�r sich getrennt bereits ausf�hrlich in der Literatur diskutiert worden sind. Anhand eines beispielhaften Aktienportfolios wird dargestellt, inwieweit die Portfoliooptimierung unter Value at Risk-Restriktion praktisch umsetzbar ist. Gang der Untersuchung: Im Anschlu� an diese allgemeine Einleitung wird im zweiten Kapitel auf die Portfoliotheorie im Hinblick auf eine Umsetzung anhand eines konkreten Beispiels eingegangen. Im dritten Kapitel werden Auswahlkonzepte beschrieben, die das Identifizieren eines investorenindividuellen optimalen Portfolios erm�glichen. Das vierte Kapitel stellt das Konzept des "Value at Risk" (VaR) vor und geht auf seine Bedeutung zur Quantifizierung der individuellen Risikoneigung des Investors ein. Im f�nften Kapitel wird das Konzept des VaR schlie�lich mit der Portfoliotheorie verkn�pft. Die Erl�uterungen werden in jedem Kapitel an einem konkreten Beispiel verdeutlicht. Im sechsten Kapitel wird die vorgestellte Methode zur Bestimmung VaR-effizienter Portfolio einer kritischen Betrachtung unterzogen, wobei insbesondere auf die Eignung im Asset Allocation-Proze� eingegangen wird. Im letzten Kapitel erfolgt schlie�lich eine kurze Zusammenfassung der Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit.
