Add to basketPortrait of Pope Callixtus III. Born 31 December 1378 in Canals, Spain. Died 6 August 1458 in Rome, Italy. Copper engraving, c. 1680. Reasonable condition. Margins trimmed to the border (=possibly a cut-out of a larger plateh). Mounted onto a 19th century album leaf. The name of the pope in a later manuscript in the lower left corner. Dimensions: 32 x 20 mm. Pope Callixtus III was Pope, Ruler of the Papal States, Bishop of Rome, Cardinal-Priest of Santi Quattro Coronati, "Alfonso de Borgia", Professor of law at the University of Lleida, Diplomat for the kings of Aragon, Tutor for King Alfonso V's illegitimate son Ferdinand, Bishop of Valencia, Responsible for the retrial of Joan of Arc that saw her vindicated, Apostolic Administrator of Mallorca, and The first Spanish pope. c. 1680.

The Online Portrait Gallery provides worldwide shipping to almost all countries. You can browse the current shipment fees when placing your order.
Secure packaging
Old prints are vulnerable objects. Therefore, we ship our prints safely in an acid free cover and a secure cardboard package. Every shipment also includes your certificate of authenticity.
Insured shipping
In spite of all precautions we take, it is unfortunately always possible that an object incurs damage during shipment. This could for example be due to uncareful handling by the shipping agency. For this reason, all our shipments are insured.
Returns
The Online Portrait Gallery accept returns, when initiated within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, for all reasons under AbeBooks' Return Policy. You are obliged to inform us via the Return Form. You are responsible that the item returns to us in the original condition. The costs associated with the return are paid for by the customer. Once the item is received – in its original condition – by The Online Portrait Gallery, we will refund your purchase amount, minus our shipping costs.
