Portrait of Rudolph II, Holy Roman Emperor, after Hans von Aachen, bust-length, slightly turned to the left, viewing the spectator, bearded, wearing an armour suit and a laurel wreath, within an oval frame; illustration to the fourth volume of Pieter Bor's "Nederlandsche Oorlogen" (Widow of Joannes van Someren, Abraham Wolfgangh & Hendrick en Dirck Boom, Amsterdam: 1679-1684) Inscribed at the bottom: 'RUDOLPHUS DE TWEDE / ROOMSCH KEISER ETC.' l Engraving on paper, with some margins; plate mark: 261 x 178 mm, total: 294 x 203 mm. Traces of previous mounting on the verso New Hollstein (German) 94 (Hans von Aachen; copy b state I).
