Losing extra weight after the birth of a child seems like a hopeless feat when coping with fatigue, a new baby, and no spare time. The author, a diet columnist and new mom, devised this diet with a nutritionist, to make it safe, easy to follow, and effective for anyone, including nursing mothers. The first three days of the diet require total abstention from sugar, fats, and snacks. A low-sugar, low-fat, 10-day meal plan, with sample menus, is offered for weekdays. There are no set menus for weekends, but dieters are advised to stay away from fats and sugar. A "Permitted Ingredients List" helps the dieter to prepare her own menus. Exercises and helpful hints for coping with new motherhood are included. This is a nutritionally sound basis for a lifetime of healthful eating that can benefit the whole family. Highly recomended.
