Post?Growth Geographies ? Spatial Relations of Diverse and Alternative Economies

Post-Growth Geographies examines the spatial relations of diverse and alternative economies between growth-oriented institutions and multiple socio-ecological crises. The book brings together conceptual and empirical contributions from geography and its neighbouring disciplines and offers different perspectives on the possibilities, demands and critiques of post-growth transformation. Through case studies and interviews, the contributions combine voices from activism, civil society, planning and politics with current theoretical debates on socio-ecological transformation.

Bastian Lange (PD Dr.), geb. 1970, ist Privatdozent an der Universität Leipzig und leitet das freie und unabhängige Forschungs- und Beratungsbüro »Multiplicities« in Berlin. Er lehrt und forscht in den Bereichen Postwachstumsgeographien, Regional Governance und Transformationsprozesse.

Martina Hülz (Dr.) leitet das wissenschaftliche Referat »Wirtschaft und Mobilität« der ARL – Akademie für Raumentwicklung in der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft in Hannover.

Benedikt Schmid (PhD), born in 1988, is postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Geography of Global Change at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. In his research, he investigates the institutionalization of practices and organizational forms with socio-ecological objectives, with a particular focus on transformation processes towards sustainable and growth-independent economic forms.

Christian Schulz (Prof. Dr.), geb. 1967, forscht und lehrt am Fachbereich Geographie und Raumplanung der Université du Luxembourg und leitet den ARL-Arbeitskreis Wohlstandsalternativen und Regionalentwicklung.
