The 1932 reissued 'cheap edition' of this work, first published in 1929.Illustrated with seventy colour plates - twenty five of which are tipped in, one of which is folding - alongside one-hundred further half tone plates, and numerous further vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.A fascinating and beautifully illustrated study of the 'vital modern art' of printed and painted posters, by W. G. Raffe. With information on methods of poster production, and an analysis of the contributors to the art form. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Discolouration to back strip, with handling marks to boards. Ink stains to front board. Internally, binding lightly strained to centre of text block. Pages generally clean and bright, with the odd pencil notation or handling mark. Good.
