A Postmodern Analysis of the Little Red Riding Hood Tale

A detailed study of a variety of versions of the Little Red Riding Hood tale examined from a feminist and psychological perspective and critiqued for their use as children's literature. The author, an instructor in children's literature and reading methods at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, includes a historical overview of the traditional tale, describes her methodology, provides critical analysis of versions that include traditional versions, modern retellings, and postmodern renditions of the tale, and makes suggestions for further research.
