Injuries associated with these hazards can affect all body system and it can lead to death. Because of the many hazards in the OR environment neither patient nor OR personnel are completely free from risks, however, it is possible to create a safe environment and minimize potential hazards identified if safe practices established.

Mervat Mamdouh Abu Zead, Assistant Lecturer, Medical Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing- Cairo University, Egypt. Graduated in 1992, had master degree in Medical Surgical Nursing in 2006. Worked as nursing education coordinator and CPR coordinator for about 12 years at Saudi Arabia.
