The Power: Berkeley Blackfriars Book Two

An evil bishop wields the Spear of Destiny.
Wicked magicians are raising an army of the damned.
Our only hope—five fucked-up friars and their dog. God help us all.

Fr. Dylan has spent his entire adult life ducking responsibility. As far as he’s concerned, there’s no problem so big that a bong hit or two can’t fix.

But when the Spear of Destiny threatens every living soul and an army of the damned begins to gather on his doorstep, Dylan has to admit he’s met his match.

Then, when the Blackfriars’ prior disappears, all eyes turn to Dylan to lead them. Dylan can either step up or allow unspeakable evil to grind everything innocent and good underfoot…

The Power is the second book in the Berkeley Blackfriars series, but it is a standalone adventure and can be enjoyed all on its own. Praise for International Bestselling Author

"What an amazing San Francisco twist on God, angels, people of faith and demons! I promise you will thoroughly enjoy the journey our friars take to stop an evil plot learning to love and accept even themselves. This book is funny, sad, enlightening and completely entertaining!" ★★★★★

"The author told a story that was gripping from beginning to end. The story really keeps you engaged and wanting to know more." ★★★★★

"I loved this book--just spent a wonderful afternoon reading--from beginning to end... The book offers the reader information, great characters, suspense, laughs, and some sadness. Great book--I'm looking forward to reading The Power, the next book in what I hope will be a long series. Maybe tomorrow!" ★★★★★

"Haven't read anything like it before... It was just so much fun, very engrossing and I couldn't put it down! It was funny and had a lot of warmth in it. It was just such a romp!" ★★★★★

"This amazingly well-written novel comes alive and takes your imagination hostage until the final page. John Mabry's tale is cast in the vast liminal spaces between 'good' and 'evil.' His detailed research into the facts behind his fiction smartly weaves into the story a compendium of religious and esoteric practices, their history and more than a few surprises (think Dan Brown). The story is entertaining; its many characters are varied, richly textured, and oh-so human." ★★★★★
