Frank Russell lives in Vermont where he owns and operates the Stonegate Woodcarving School with his wife Caroline. You man contact the Stonegate Woodcarving School at 47 Stonegate Road, Cambridge, VT 05444, phone 802-849-6692.
A self-taught artist and avid woodcarver, Jack Kochan has been carving nearly twenty years. Though primarily a wildfowl carver, he is adept at many styles of carving from relief, to caricature, to realistic and covers a broad range of subject matter. Born and raised in the rolling hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania, he grew up with a deep appreciation of wildlife and nature. Much of his work reflects the adversity, tranquility, and sometimes the comedy of nature itself. A thorough understanding of anatomical structure helps create his many lifelike pieces. He also illustrates for Woodcarving Illustrated magazine and has been a contributor to several articles. Jack resides in Leesport, Pennsylvania with his wife, June.
Lori Corbett is an award-winning bird carver and a carving instructor. She is a contributor to Wood Carving Illustrated. She lives in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Chuck Solomon is a terrestrial ecologist and works primarily with endangered species in the Central Valley of California. He has been teaching carving classes and participating in carving competitions for over 15 years. He has won more than 100 ribbons at shows in Colorado, California, Alaska and Canada, including Best of Show and Best of Division. Chuck has also judged several shows in Colorado. His work consists primarily of songbirds, waterfowl and mammals, both realistic and interpretive. Chuck currently lives in the Sacramento, California, area where he works, carves, teaches classes and is an active member of the Capital Woodcarvers Association and California Carvers Guild.
Dave Hamilton is an ecologist by profession, working primarily in the area of wetland ecology. He has been carving and competing in shows for almost 20 years. While Dave enjoys carving a variety of bird species, he specializes in hummingbirds and in the wading birds common to the wetlands he works on professionally. He also enjoys carving stylized pieces and reproductions of antique decoys. Dave lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he carves, teaches classes, and is a member of the Northern Colorado Woodcarvers.
Wanda Marsh is an award-winning carver of fish, animals and caricatures as well as flowers. Her awards include a sweep of the flower division at the 2000 International Woodcarvers Congress (morning glory, first place; hibiscus, second place; rose, third place) and a People's Choice Award for an iris at the Houston Area Woodcarvers Show. She holds other honors for fish carving from the Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers and Collectors Guild, the East Texas Woodcarvers Annual Show, the Killeen Centroplex Woodcarvers Show and the World Fish Carving Championship.
