Synopsis

Richard C. Trexler (1932-2007) was one of our era’s most original historians. His modest description of himself as “a social historian with an interest in cultural history” hardly does justice to a career that covered fields as diverse as church history, urban history, historical anthropology and sociology, art history, gender and sexuality studies, and early modern Latin America.
