The results of this study showed that pets are an important aspect to people and their families. In several cases people explained that their pet represented another family member, a sister or brother and that they encouraged family bonding, and often acted as a protector.

About the Author

Krista received her BS from Radford University, MS & Ph.D. in Human development from VA Tech. A variety of pets have enriched her life from the time she was born to the present, they have inspired the development of both her Thesis and Dissertation.
