Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens, and not by what life brings to us but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive name causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, behaviors, attitudes, events, and outcomes. It is a catalystâ a spark that creates extraordinary results.
Blessing Ngozi Egwu
About the Author
Blessing Egwu was born in Achi town, Enugu State of Nigeria. She graduated from Girls' High School Ngwo and Women Teacher's College Enugu. She went on to the Touro College State University of New York where she obtained her bachelor's degree magna cum laude in social sciences. She obtained her master's degree (MSW) in social work suma cum laude at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, Lincoln Center, New York. Blessing's passion in writing started at a very young age. She loves telling stories, writing songs, and poems. She wrote poems and stories for her school, church, families, and friends. She does not talk much but expresses most of her thoughts through writing. She received a distinguished membership and outstanding poet award from the International Society of Poets, Washington, D.C. Blessing is the author of A Taste of the African Table, a wonderful well-known cookbook, and The Literature of African Names, an intriguing book that explains well the origin and the importance of inspirational positive names. Her books in the making are In the Eyes of 2 Friends, The Turtle and The Magic Drum, and Parenting Without Tears. Currently, Blessing holds a New York State Board-certified license master of social work (LMSW). Blessing is working for the New York City Administration for Children's Services (ACS) as a child and family specialist. She has and is still making impact in the lives of children and families that earned her outstanding awards and commendations from the American National Association of Social Workers, Queens's Borough Council for Social Welfare, United Way of New York, and Agenda for Children Tomorrow.
