About the Author

Anita G. Naves is a multiple award-winning Youth Advocate whose works in youth empowerment include : Youth Motivational Coach, Speaker, Youth Pastor, Radio Talk Show Host and CEO and Founder of Youthfest, Inc. In 2004, she became nationally recognized as the first African American woman to introduce and organize the first tri-state Youth Empowerment Rally in Prince George's County, Maryland. The rally sparked a statewide media frenzy, because it was the first of its kind platform designed to empower youths "not only" with entertainment, but motivational messages, and the distribution of resources and information. Ms. Naves works in youth advocacy continues to flourish, making her one of the most recognized community activist whereby youths are concerned. She has received countless of awards and acknowledgements by state and public figures, as well as educators and corporate businesses, such as: 2005 Washington Wizards "Abe Pollin" Award and the 2006 Prince George's Community Builders Award, 2007 Women History Month Recognition, Washington Informer.
