Power System Operation Control & Restructuring

This book provides a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects and their applications, including modeling, analyzing the problem of stability, operation of the power system and problems associated with restructured power systems. With its coverage and focus, this book will meet the needs of the students of the various UG and PG power systems engineering courses. It will also serve as a useful reference resource for researchers and practising engineers. Major Highlights A large number of solved problems and unsolved exercises accompanying theory, for better comprehension Inclusion of MATLAB M-files and SIMULINK appropriately in numerical examples, for assisting the analysis A dedicated chapter on supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), for proper emphasis on this important topic A section on engineering challenges encountered in restructuring of interconnected power systems, for a real-world application A good coverage of the regulatory and legal framework, for giving a good understanding of the compliance aspects of power systems. 1- Load Flow Studies 2- Short Circuit Studies 3- Optimal Dispatch 4- Voltage and angle Stability 5- AGC 6- EHVDC-HVDC 7- Modeling 8- FACTs 9- SCADA 10- Load Frequency Control under restructuring Power System 11- The laws challenges and issues 12- Congestion Management 13- ATC and Pricing 14- Index.
