Small octavo. xvi, 214 pages, [8 pp of "Press Opinions"]. Wood cut bookplate of Herbert J. Richardson, Newcastle Upon Tyne of an angler wading in the water after Thomas Bewick's "The Angler and the Little Fish" from his Fables of Aesop (p.54, A Catalogue of an Exhibition of Angling Book Plates. Grolier Club, 1918.) Half-bound in leather over marbled paper covered boards, gilt rules, five raised bands with gilt decorations and lettering in compartments, top edge gilt, marbled end papers, and reading ribbon. Decorative chapter initials and occasional in-text diagrams. . Binding rubbed, surface leather loss at corners, corners bumped, small loss to front board joint at foot of spine; light occasional foxing; page 57 with discoloration, paper remnants, and glue residue. Otherwise a very nice copy. HFP-687.
