(A Practical Approach to Evidence first appeared in 1980, and its success in providing a readable and practical guide to the subject has been widely acknowledged not only by law teachers and students, but also by the profession.

This third edition deals with the many significant changes in the law of Evidence since the publication of the second edition in 1985, and includes a thorough analysis of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, and of important decisions such as that of the House of Lords in R v Hunt.
