Shar’iah audit is the tool which gives assurance for its compliance. Therefore,the role of Shar’iah audit & compliance is very important. With the great early success, Islamic financial institutions are keen to grow their business and capture more market. Great in-depth research in Islamic finance, accounting and auditing plays a vital role for rapid growth in Islamic financial industry. However, in comparison with overall Islamic finance and accounting there is a need of more research work in the practical field of Shar’iah audit. It is observed that many times the recommended guidelines of Shar’iah were not followed properly which cause severe and very technical Shar’iah issues. Therefore, this study is an effort to provide the research on the practical issues that have been observed by the Shar’iah auditors in Islamic Banks. The main purpose of this book is to emphasize the mechanism of Shar’iah audit as well as to discuss the key observations, problems and their appropriate solutions in all the products.

Ali Ashraf Usmani, holds Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) membership, and currently pursing Master in Islamic Finance Practice (MIFP) from INCEIF University Malaysia. He is specialized in Islamic Accounting, banking and Shariah Auditinng. Currently he is providing his services as Shariah Auditor & Advisory in Meezan Bank Ltd.
