Synopsis

This book was written to aid quality technicians and engineers. The purpose of this book is to provide background and examples on the application of gage R&R methodology (test method validation) for variable and attribute data, help for those who work with devices that don t fit the usual approach, and ideas for measurement devices that require innovation to assess their performance under off-line, static conditions. The ultimate objective is to ensure the measurement system is suitable for its intended purpose and capable of consistently providing valid measurements so that one may effectively control and ultimately improve the performance of a process. This book will be a useful reference when preparing for and taking many of the ASQ quality certification examinations, including the Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Calibration Technician (CCT), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), and Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).

About the Author

Mark Allen Durivage has worked as a practitioner, educator, and consultant. He received an A.A.S in Computer Aided Machining from Owens Community College, a B.A.S in Computer Aided Machining from Siena Heights University and a M.S. in Quality Management from Eastern Michigan University. Additionally, Durivage served an apprenticeship and is a journeyman mold maker. He is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) Fellow and holds several ASQ certifications including; CQM/OE, CRE, CQE, CQA, CHA, CBA, CPGP, and CSSBB. Durivage is an active member of the ASQ Toledo Section, the ASQ Reliability Division, and the ASQ Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Division holding several Section and Division leadership positions. Durivage and his family currently reside in Lambertville, Michigan. He was a contributing author and the editor of The Certified Pharmaceutical GMP Professional Handbook (ASQ Quality Press, 2014) and the author of Practical Engineering, Process, and Reliability Statistics (ASQ Quality Press, 2014).
