The Practical Expositor was first published between 1739-1752 in 3 volumes (4to) & reprinted in 6 volumes (8vo). The second edition appeared in 1760, the third edition in 1775, this fourth edition in 1794, the fifth edition in 1797, & the sixth edition in 1818. Scarce in all editions. Bound in full leather, gilt-lettered leather labels to spine. NOTE: A FAIR COPY ONLY. Lacks rear cover, ends at page 454 (lower third of page lacking) & which we presume is the final page according to contents at start, front cover almost detached, heavily worn, foxing & light staining throughout, former owner's ink notation to ffep, otherwise a solid leatherbound copy of an uncommon title. 454pp. Volume 4 only (of 6).
