Practical Fly-Tying

In his foreward the author said the object of his book was to suggest the "aesthetic and pleasurable" aspects of fly-tying together with practical instruction for fishermen. This he does with chapters devoted to the step-by-step making of a fishing fly, its different components, materials required, the mechanics of tying and advice on patterns, as well as a host of other aspects of the art. Photographs and numerous sketches supplement the written word. 123 pages including bibliography and index, followed by three pages listing publisher's other fishing books, three b/w photos and 137 sketches. Green hard covers VG with silver spine titles dulled, neat inked name lower edge front pastedown, the front panel of the original dust jacked is tipped in before FFEP (there is a small ink name/date at top edge), FFEP has tiny typed name (with ink line through) pasted top right, small dealer stamp lower left, no other inscriptions, text block excellent.
