About the Author
Professor Powell was a partner in a Dallas law firm, and an experienced trial lawyer, before joining the Baylor faculty to teach in the nationally acclaimed trial advocacy program. He holds an endowed chair in evidence law and is the director of the Practice Court Program. He was awarded the distinction of Master Teacher in 2006. In 2007 Powell was honored by the American Board of Trial Advocates for Stewardship of the 7th Amendment Right to Trial by Jury. The Honorable James E. (Ed) Kinkeade was appointed to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas in 2002. Prior to that, he was a justice on the Fifth District Court of Appeals, Texas, from 1988 to 2002, and served in the Texas 194th District Court from 1981 to 1988. Judge Kinkeade also taught as an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan School of law from 1981 to 2002.
