Many of the recipes were submitted by American housewives. With a few black & white illustrations and drawings. No author or editor is credited. --- In green glazed hardcovers with titling & decorations in black to cover & spine. All textblock edges tinted in red. --- With an 8 cm crack at front joint and the beginning of another at rear joint, neither of which affect the stability of the binding. Leaves are tanned, but not excessively so; red fore-edge with dampstains and a single clipped recipe has been affixed to front paste-down. Overall, the book in rather well-preserved condition.
