The text is intended for students studying investments for the first time, and assumes that the student is familiar with basic finance concepts. The text is more applied than theoretical and focuses on individual investors more than on large institutional investors. While very practical, the text is comprehensive enough for those who plan to become CFAs. It is well-illustrated and user-friendly. BOB STRONG is PROFESSOR OF FINANCE at the University of Maine and Deputy Director of the Harvard University Summer Economics Program. His Bachelor of Science degree in engineering is from the United States Military Academy at West Point his Master of Science degree in business administration from Boston University and his Ph.D. in finance from Penn State. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
