Hardcover full cloth. Overall good, with discoloration to parts of board and down spine. Some loss to title label on spine. Assorted exterior staining. Light cracking to front hinge. Text blocks remains bound well with light wear. Bookplate of Eden B. Foster on front pastedown. Assorted old-hand markings. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece by American educator Samuel Read Hall (1795-1877). Owned by abolitionist Eden B. Foster (1813-1822), the second pastor of the St. John’s Congregational Church of Lowell, Massachusetts.
