Chief Investigator of the first  UK National Thyroid Cancer Trial -Hilo-( NEJM 2012) which helped modify  international  guidelines and practice  and of the on-going second UK trial-IoN. One of the lead authors of the first UK National guideline. The MDT obtained many prestigious national awards including–Best NHS  "Hospital Doctor" Oncology Team of the Year” Award 2007, Best Thyroid cancer MDT in NHS Peer Review 2011, first prize in NHS innovations award 2007 and others. He  initiated an acclaimed MD clinic  involving an expert thyroid cancer patient. Current interests are trials, biomarkers and guideline implementation.
