Originally published in 1867, this the the 4th edition with additions, coinciding with the forthcoming opening of the new baths. Contains chapters on the different waters and their qualities, skin diseases, various ailments including the delightfully termed 'jaded brain'. The book is in the original blindstamped cloth with title etc in gilt to the front board. Prelims, 242pp and c40pp adverts, mainly local interspersed with b&w pictures of the area, hotels etc. ownership details written in pencil on ffep. Duxbury, Gargrave House, Harrogate. It is now luxury flats and is much closer to Skipton. The book is sunned to the spine. Spine ends and tips of corners rubbed. Boards bright. Inside, a few spots to the eps. Half-title page tanned.
