About this title

Synopsis

"The Practical System for Drafting Ladies' and Children's Clothing" by Mrs. Elizabeth Blakely, originally published in 1907, offers a fascinating glimpse into early 20th-century dressmaking techniques. Designed specifically for use in public schools, this manual provides a comprehensive approach to drafting patterns for women's and children's garments. This book is more than just a historical artifact; it offers practical instruction that can still be of value to students of fashion design, historical costumers, and anyone interested in the evolution of clothing construction. Blakely's detailed instructions and systematic approach reflect a commitment to accessible education and the empowerment of women through practical skills. A valuable resource for understanding the foundations of garment creation.
