About this Item

Light blue cloth boards, highly decorated in black and gilt to front and spine. 1883, Appleton, New York - scarce edition, no other copies of this series of three books available on internet at time of writing. Boards are worn and dulled, but the bright blue and gilt still make for a very attrective set of three books. Edges and corners bumped and worn. Frontispiece and Internal Illustrations By F. O. Darley (illustrator) - separated by tissue guard which is intact and in good condition. Gilt to upper edge in good condition, very bright for age. Binding is tight, text clean and bright through out, minor foxing to prelims. FFEP is split from pastedown, still attached - just. This volume is The Two Admirals, 479pp plus adverts, the page block edge is rougher than other two volumes as pages have all been cut. A few minor foxing spots throughout page block but overall a really nice copy. The full set of three books are available at a 20% discount on the individual prices.
