Pray With Me: Seven Simple Ways to Pray With Your Children

Grace Mazza Urbanski, former director of Children's Ministry for the Apostleship of Prayer (now the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network), gives parents practical advice on how to help children find opportunities to pray throughout the day. Using warmth, humor, and passion, Urbanski draws on personal experience to show how families are brought closer together through deeper contact with God.

There are opportunities for children to pray everywhere--when a friend gets hurt on the playground, before a test in the classroom, and even as they hear ambulance sirens while riding in the car with mom or dad--not just at meals and bedtime. In Pray with Me, Urbanski identifies seven ways that parents can help deepen their child's relationship with God by using everyday life as a trigger for prayer. She shows how spontaneous prayer, traditional prayers you know by heart, scripture, song, silence, and reflection help families draw closer to God and each other.

Grace Mazza Urbanski is the principal of Christ the King Parish School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She previously taught high school English at Brookfield Academy in Wisconsin and served as national director of children’s ministry with the Apostleship of Prayer (now the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network).

Urbanski and her husband, David, received the 2017 Archdiocese of Milwaukee Vatican II Award for their service to families. She also received an alumna of the year award from the Marquette University Denihy Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu in 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Marquette University, where she was formerly a lecturer in the English department. She is a Phi Beta Kappa and a member of several other honors organizations. Urbanski is also a professional vocalist and voice teacher. She is an active member of her parish, St. Mary’s Visitation, where she has served on the pastoral council and chaired the Catholic Formation Committee.

The Urbanskis live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
