Teachers of Preaching are convinced that use of the lectionary for preaching is an important discipline for the life of the church. This book provides a clear theological case for lectionary use (including the history of its use in the church) and a practical guide for using the lectionary to deepen a congregation's experience with the Bible.
An excerpt from the Circuit Rider review: "For any preacher worn down by current fixations with the charisma of the preacher, banal illustrations, power point oversimplification and so forth, this is a text to read and treasure. It will be a source of renewal and renewed dedication to preaching for those called, ordained, empowered and entrusted to be stewards of the mysteries of God."
