About the Author
Tommie Williams is a blessed, 81-year old, Spirit-filled Christian Intercessor. Her life has been a reflection of the Baptist household she was reared in. A native of North Philadelphia, she grew up in the last days of WWII, when the sounds of air raid sirens signaled a threat that made everyone take cover! Her oldest brother and other young men were pressed into battle, on the front lines of a war they didn’t start. She watched God’s hand of mercy upon her widowed mother as she carved out a lifestyle of prayer and hard work. The family depended upon God daily. Like many around her, attending church was a way of life. Most people didn’t take salvation lightly. This environment fostered an early awareness of the need for Christ in her life. By the time she was nine years old she made her confession of faith and was baptized. She chose to pattern her spiritual life after both her prayer warrior mother, and grandmother, as they nurtured her to maturity. Sixty-one years ago, God blessed her with a Godly husband and as they worked shoulder to shoulder, throughout the years, her talents began to give evidence of God’s touch upon her life. She studied, taught Sunday School, VBS, and served in leadership roles wherever needed in the church. Following her budding sensitivity for the lost, she served as a member of the Evangelism Outreach Ministry of Second Macedonia Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. During that time, she latched on to a lingering quote by Rev. William B. Moore, Pastor, Tenth Memorial Baptist Church, who said, “They will not seek, they must be sought; they will not come, they must be brought.” When you consider the simplicity of these words, it’s amazing how God can use such a statement to create a passion for soul-winning. Now, at such a time as this, God would see fit to convict her to dust off dormant training material and unleash it into the hands of other co-laborers who are ready to become torch-bearers for Christ. It is her prayer that God would anoint the Word in this book to usher his children into the Kingdom of God, here on earth.
