Presbytery And Not Prelacy: The Scriptural And Primitive Polity

Presbytery and Not Prelacy: The Scriptural and Primitive Polity is a book written by Thomas Smyth that explores the Presbyterian form of church government and argues against the episcopal system. The book delves into the historical and biblical roots of Presbyterianism, tracing its origins back to the early Christian church and the teachings of the apostles. Smyth also critiques the episcopal system, which he believes is not supported by scripture and has led to abuses of power within the church. The book is a thorough examination of the Presbyterian form of church government and provides a compelling argument for its superiority over other systems. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of church governance or the Presbyterian denomination. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
