Long ago, the three magics of the world came together to bring balance to the universe. Europe brought a staff carved from the Tree of Life. Asia brought a jade orb, imbued with magical power. Africa brought a gold bowl, decorated to look like the wings of magical birds, one wing to represent each magic: a crane for Asia, a hawk for Africa, and a raven for Europe. This brought balance to the magics and all was well for a long time. Until it was broken...

Wren Byrne is a good Arsa soldier: she follows orders and doesn't ask too many questions. She fights diligently to help her clan fix the magical imbalance of the world.

E.R. Munley has been crafting stories since she was able to tell them. An avid reader and advocate, she has been working for over a decade to build young readers as a high school English teacher in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. All things considered, becoming a published author herself was almost inevitable. Having grown up in the Baltimore Metro Area, she is an avid fan of the Orioles and Ravens, no matter the number of heart attacks or heartbreaks. When she isn't writing, she enjoys traveling with her husband (though she is a devoted indoor cat) or snuggling up with her dogs.

Ruth Sanger is a native of Delaware, the state not the county. Writing has always been a passion project of hers in between teaching music and performing in community theater. Living in China for four years gave her a unique perspective on life and she tries to express that in her writing style. You can usually find her singing a song and a book in hand!
