Primary Fault

Book 1 of the Schattenreich

Caitlin Schwarzbach leaves Texas for a long awaited reunion with her seismologist brother Gus in Germany. She’s bringing two duffel bags, her Texas twang, and hope for the future.

Instead of the idyllic life she’s imagined with her estranged brother, anger and intrigue invade her life. Gus disappears, wanted by the Cologne police. The deep fear that has plagued Caitlin since childhood haunts her as she resolves to find the brother she loves so dearly.

Caitlin Schwarzbach, geophysicist, unemployed, alone and abandoned, has but a single weapon: an intimate knowledge about what makes the earth work and the analysis skills it takes to unravel a scientific puzzle. But that knowledge cannot help her make sense of internal earthquakes that throw her into an alternate reality.

The experiences that challenge her worldview enmesh her into a sinister conspiracy and pit her against her deepest fear: the gaunt wraith she calls Death.

Primary Fault, blending fantasy with suspense, will appeal to readers who love Celtic mythology woven into a contemporary setting.
